🏔 Highline Trail (~18mi. round trip)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
a beautiful way to see various mountain sides and wildlife while really immersing yourself into the park - these views are SO worth it. this trail also runs into the Grinnell Glacier Overlook which is a must if you want to experience the ice blue lakes! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏔 Hidden Lake Overlook (~2.8mi round trip)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
an open trail that leads you to an overlook of the outstanding blue Hidden Lake and breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains. if you want to do the full Hidden Lake Trail, bringing you down to the lake itself, it’s about 5.4mi round trip⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏔 St. Mary’s + Virginia Falls (~3.3mi round trip)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
a unique trail because it brings you to spectacular views of 2 waterfalls! both St. Mary’s falls and Virginia Falls have multi-tiered waterfalls and are very cool to get up close to and enjoy⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏔 Trail of the Cedars (1mi round trip)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
probably the easiest path to walk in the entire park with cool views of the forest, plants, and wildlife. this trail is short and wheelchair accessible too!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🏔 Avalanche Lake (~4.5mi round trip)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

this trail splits off of Trail of the Cedars into a moderate hike with a spectacular view of the Avalanche gorge, creek and lake. when you get to the foot of the lake, you’ll come across a beautiful view of the mountain with waterfalls and a nice beach to hang out and enjoy the views!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’m not usually a morning person...but when I found out parking lots for trails in Glacier National Park filled up by 7:30-8am every day I was determined to make sure we got there as early as possible⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Boy am I glad we did because golden hour was my favorite lighting to see the park in! the morning glow hits the tops of the mountains just right, and everything feels ominous. it beat any other time of day and made me appreciate the views even more!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

day one of my trip in Glacier National Park did not disappoint 👏🏻

we hiked a total of 18miles yesterday and I am the most sore I’ve ever been in my life...WORTH IT though
•
in a non-COVID world, the Highline Trail is typically a one-way hike. you’d go from Logan Pass and hike the Highline, then switch and continue onto the Loop trail to McDonald Lodge. from there you can take the free shuttle back up to your car at Logan Pass
•
in our COVID world, however, the Highline Trail becomes a round trip trail if you go to the end since the shuttles are not currently operating
•

happy Monday insta friends!

on Saturday, we did a day trip to Block Island and it was so.much.fun. We rode mopeds, drank mudslides, ate delicious/fresh seafood, and relaxed by the beach 🏖 and the weather was absolutely perfect. I definitely should have reapplied some more sunscreen though because my skin is feeling a littttle toasty 😅
